Masterclass with Brooklyn Rider
Hello guys,
Next week, just before heading of to Boston for the VII International NEC Chamber Music Competition, our duet will be featured in the master-class with the famous string quartet Brooklyn Rider, hailed by Strings magazine as “the future of the chamber music”.
Brooklyn Rider members – Johnny Gandelsman and Colin Jacobsen, violins, Nicholas Cords, viola, and Michael Nicolas, cello – recently enjoyed their 10th anniversary as an ensemble. This creative quartet has performed in such varied settings as Joe’s Pub in New York City, the San Francisco Jazz Festival, Todai-ji Temple in Japan, the Library of Congress, and the South By Southwest Festival. In addition, they have been featured on NPR, founded the Stillwater Music Festival, and are active participants in Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble.
The master-class is on November 30th, starting at 11:20am at MSU College of Music Cook Recital Hall. Class&Jazz Duo will be presenting Debussy’s Sonata in G Minor for violin and piano. Please, come and check it out if you have a chance! Also, Brooklyn Rider is presenting their guest performance later on December 1st at MSU Fairchild Theater starting at 7:30pm.
