"Talents from all latitudes"

The I International competition of chamber ensembles and piano duets by name of D.D.Shostakovich. From 25th of February to 1st of March, Moscow.

Organizers: the Ministry of culture and mass communications of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow, Federal agency on culture and cinematographies, Fund " Russian performing art", Association of musical competitions of Russia, the State musically-pedagogical institute by name of M.M. Ippolitiv-Ivanov, the All-Russian association of public associations "The Russian union for culture of the world".

Chairman of Organizing committee - the president of Fund "Russian performing art", rector of the Ippolitov-Ivanov institute, the honored artist of the Russian Federation, the professor V. Vorona.

Jury: the rector of the Moscow conservatory, People's Artist of Russia. professor T.Alihanov (chairman); the pro-rector of the Moscow conservatory, the honored artist of the Russian Federation, professor E.Sorokina; the People's Artist of Russia of the Russian Federation, the professor G. Shirinskaya (co-chairmen); the honored artist of the Russian Federation A.Trostjansky; the honored artist of the Russian Federation, professor S.Uryvaev, A.Buzlov, I.Hoffmann, M. Purijinskiy, R.Muradjan; the professor G. Sproge (Latvia); professor H.-P. Schtenzel (Germany), L.Zimovina. Director of the competition - Vasily Scherbakov.

75 ensembles have participated in competition from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Latvia, Ukraine.
Within the limits of competition Festival of chamber ensembles DSCH has taken place.

E.Sorokina: " it was very hard to us to choose the best, because of the very high level of the participants".

T.Alihanov: " Those ensembles which have not received premiums and diplomas should participate in following competitions - all at them have a creative future ".

V. Scherbakov: " Such bright representation, such wide geography of participants was possible only owing to the newspaper "The Musical Review" and to the "Russian association of musical competitions".

II premium - the duet of Ineta Abakuka (alto) and Inara Piksha (piano) (Latvia)
III premium - the duet of Alexander Haskin (flute) and Artem Selivanov (piano) (Moscow); the duet of Alexey Tcherkasov (violin) and Alexey Muratov (piano) (Moscow)

Younger group:
I premium - the duet of Liya Yakupova (violin) and Anna Tamarkina (piano) (Moscow)
II premium - the duet of Anna Aseev (violin) and Lydia Nochovskaja (piano) (Ukraine)
